“Better to donate than accumulate…”

Donate Bras and Underpants

Let’s face it: we all have a bra that stays forever at the back of our lingerie drawer, unworn. Maybe you bought it for a special occasion, maybe it was on sale, or maybe it was a gift? Perhaps you have simply changed your shape or weight, had a baby, or stopped nursing?

If the bra doesn’t fit…donate it!

Bras are made of non-biodegradable materials (synthetic fabric, underwire, etc.) Donating your bra not only decreases the number of bras entering our landfills, but it also provides DESPERATELY needed help to women using homeless shelter services. The bra you donate to Dignity Matters is likely to be the only properly fitting bra the women who receives it will own.

Why do homeless women need your donation of bras and underwear?

Because they simply cannot afford them, and homeless women first give up the things that are “invisible” such as underwear and socpic1-300pxwks. And since bras are such a personal item, many women never think of donating them. Perfectly good and usable bras end up being thrown out, instead of being donated.

Let Dignity Matters recycle your GENTLY used bras in a way that will positively impact the lives of women in our community.

What do we accept?

1. Female underpants – new with tags. Any brand, type, size, or color.

2. Bras – both new and gently used.  All sizes (30-44, A – DDD+) and styles are needed*, including underwire bras, sports bras, maternity bras, shape wear, etc. Nursing bras are very sought after – nursing moms leak, and a nursing bra gives the dignity of a dry shirt.

To affirm the dignity of the women we serve, we can only accept gently used bras which are clean and with no pilling, discoloration or holes.
