“Better to donate than accumulate…”

Why do homeless women need your donation of bras and underpants?

pic1-300pxwBecause they simply cannot afford them, and homeless women first give up the things that are “invisible” such as underwear and socks. And since bras are such a personal item, many women never think of donating them. Perfectly good and usable bras end up being thrown out, instead of being donated. We hear from most shelters we partner with that they did not have donations of bras or underpants for years and Dignity Matters is the only resource they can tap into to receive any help with these basic items.

There are two ways to donate bras and underpants:

1. You can purchase new items (bras or underpants) from our Amazon Wish List. It is easy, economical and practical. Your order ships directly to us, and we distribute the items to the shelters that need these items the most.

  2. You can mail us your items (new or gently used – please read below), or drop them off at our permanent collection bins:

What do we accept?

1. Bras – new and gently used.  ALL sizes and style are needed (including custom made sizes, sports bras, shape wear, etc). Nursing bras are always sought after – nursing moms leak, and a nursing bra gives the dignity of a dry shirt.

To affirm the dignity of the women we serve, we can only accept GENTLY used bras which have no pilling, discoloration or holes. Please launder your bras before donating.

2. Female underpants new with tags only (we cannot donate used underpants). Any brand, type, size.
