Periods don’t stop for pandemics… and neither does Dignity Matters.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dignity Matters has been working around the clock to ensure that 8,500 women and girls get free, reliable, and dignified access to menstrual products every month.

We continue to provide for the 4,000 women we supported prior to COVID-19 through 125 partners, including: Catie’s Closet, The Women’s Lunch Place, Pine Street Inn, Family Promise MetroWest, A Place To Turn, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston, and Boston Health Care for The Homeless Program.

With your help, Dignity Matters distributed a record 1,013,262 menstrual care items during COVID 2020

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have also joined forces with organizations throughout the state to distribute menstrual care to an additional 4,500 women and girls in immediate need each month. These new partners include:

  • Emergency Centers at 25 public schools in Boston, Framingham, Lawrence and Lowell
  • The MetroWest YMCA, The Greater Boston YMCA and The Greater Lowell YMCA
  • The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Lowell
  • Chelsea Collaborative
  • FamilyAid Boston
  • JFS MetroWest
  • Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency

Dignity Matters will do all we can to provide women living in poverty with essential menstrual care during COVID-19 – but we need your help to make it happen:

You can also host a drive right from home. We recommend finding a large, blue, grey or black plastic bin that you can store on your porch or in your driveway. Tell family and friends that you are collecting menstrual care, bras (new or like-new) and underwear (new with tags or in packages of 5 or 6) for Dignity Matters, and that they can drop off items in your bin. We recommend handling them with gloves and isolating them for 3 days to ensure safety during COVID-19.
