Providence RI Chapter

Join Our Team of Volunteers

Volunteers help our mission in many ways:

  • participate in organizing local collection drives and fundraising
  • sorting and packing product for schools and homeless shelters
  • preparing individual care packages for women in need
  • visiting shelters on behalf of Dignity Matters
  • delivering our donations
  • handle local marketing and social media
  • etc.

Our volunteers can sign up for activities that are based on their individual interest and availability, help when you can, but please note that most of our activities happen in fall, winter and spring. If you would like to become a Dignity Matters volunteer or a local leader fill out our Volunteer Application here.

Request Help

If you work for or know of a local institution/organization that directly supports homeless women/teens and that needs feminine hygiene products and underwear for their clients, please get in touch. Also, please note that we partner with Catie’s Closet and deliver feminine hygiene products and underwear to public schools with over 50% poverty rate. The list of currently supported schools and shelters is here.

To request assistance for an institution that we do not serve yet, fill out the Request Help form below.

Chapter Information – Providence, RI

Welcome to the Providence Chapter of Dignity Matters! Our chapter was formed in September 2017. Whether you are looking to provide help to homeless girls and women, or you would like to request assistance on behalf of a local non-profit serving homeless teens or women, you’ve come to the right place. Our volunteer chapter leaders donate time to coordinate local donation drives, organize local fundraising events and bring local people together to carry on the mission of Dignity Matters.

Read on to learn more about what inspired them to join Dignity Matters and help us raise awareness of our mission. We are always looking to expand our presence here in Providence among volunteers, potential new team members and leaders and potential recipient organizations alike.

Dignity Matters establishes local networks of volunteers (lead by the chapter leaders) that are mobilized in spring and fall to collect in-kind and monetary donations and to help with shelter visits/donations, product packing/sorting and preparing seasonal appeals such as “Fill the Bag with Dignity” in December.
